RDZ for VSE

The VSE Soulution for Rational Developer for System z (RDz) supplies support for the integration of VSE Host Systems into the development environment RDz. The PlugIn provides functionality to connect to the VSE Host System and to access the different VSE Subsystems like Librarian, Power, ICCF and VSAM. Furthermore, it's also possible to access the message console directly from the RDz-client's front end.

Special VSE Projects are provided to support local management of sources with easy synchronization to the host. Within these projects, you may import existing VSE Librarian members or create a completely new source code file. All these files can be edited by the RDz-editors, especially the LPEX editor for COBOL and PLI.

It's possible to perform local syntax checks for PLI and COBOL as well as remote compiles. The error listings created by the compile job are transferred back to the client, analysed and shown in the remote error view.

Editing Librarian members remotely is also possible directly from the VSE-System-view. Furthermore, using RDz's 3270-host-emulation provides the possibility to access the VSE system in a “native” manner.
